I had a busy week with presenting jobs last week. Plenty of events on. One of my favourites was Rosanna Davisons book launch which I covered for Shemazing TV.
I went along to House on Leeson Street for the launch. My interview with Rosanna was booked in quite early so when I got there it was just me, the camera crew, Rosanna and her book publicist so I got plenty of one-on-one time .
Rosanna was in great form and told me she felt a bit like it was her wedding day all over again 🙂 She had been in hair and make up at 9 that morning and was wearing a cream dress. It looked like it was by Self Portrait and she told me she got it in Coco Boutique in Dublin.
The book has over 100 healthy and simple recipes as well as loads of tips on how to improve your skin and look your best. There were plenty of healthy treats on hand at the launch which were all recipes from the book. I have tried healthy versions of different treats before and to be fair a lot of the time they taste really weird but not Rosannas. I tried her veggie sushi wrap and a smoothie and both were really tasty and guilt free so woohoo 🙂
Rosannas husband and family arrived just as we were about to start our interview. I can’t believe I got to meet Chris de Burgh 🙂 He even had a little chat with me on camera. The whole time I was talking to him all I was thinking in my head was Lady in Reeeeeeeeeeeddddddddd!

I got married at the end of May so over the last few months I’ve been trying lots of different spray tans in the search for the perfect one for the big day. I tried LOADS! As as redhead, it can be difficult to get the right tone of tan. Some were too orange, others didn’t give me enough of a glow and some just left me with a horrible scaly residue that was really hard to scrub off (not a good look for the honeymoon)…BUT I found one that I absolutely love.
Apparently Una Healy from The Saturday’s is a big fan of this tan too. It’s called the Exposed Spray tan. Its a one-coat spray tan so, unlike most spray tans, you leave the salon with dry skin as one coat does the trick. It comes out a different colour on everyone but on my pale skin it gave me a gorgeous natural looking tan and took the pastey look off my skin without making me look orange.
I got sprayed the day before my wedding and had a shower the next morning and it was lovely. It is the perfect spray tan for brides to be because it doesn’t come off onto your white/cream dress so you won’t have horrible tan marks under your arms. It doesn’t have a strong smell either which is good.
I also tried some maintenance products from the Exposed Tan range. I tried the tan eraser and the body moisturiser. I’ve seen some brilliant pics of how the eraser can strip the tan off your skin but it didn’t work on me to be honest. I found my exfoliating glove was the best thing to scrub off the last bit of tan and I stuck to my trusty Garnier Body 7 Days Lotion to keep my skin moisturised.
I got married in Waterford so I went to Lisa in Lulu Belle to get sprayed for my wedding day and it turned out perfect. I got the 10% but they have a darker one too. When I’m in Dublin I get sprayed in Michelle B Nails in Dundrum and again it turns out perfect so you are in safe hands in either of those salons.
The best piece of advice I can give to a bride to be who wants a spray tan for her wedding day is to book in your trial in advance so you have plenty of time to scrub it off and go again if needs be.
I am a bit of a magpie at heart so I was delighted when I got asked to cover the Thomas Sabo Autumn Winter launch for Shemazing TV last week.
The A/W collection has a bit of everything, from charms and coloured beads to really glitzy pieces.
As soon as I walked in the door I was given a goodie bag which had a gorgeous little bracelet inside from the Love Bridge collection. There was a team of engravers at the launch to engrave our new arm candy which I thought was a really nice touch. Apparently all the bracelets from the Love Bridge range can be engraved and it’s included in the price of the bracelet.
Mine took less than 2 minutes to engrave and I thought it was a really nice way to add a personal touch and sentimental value to a piece of jewellery. My husband actually proposed under the Love Bridge in Paris so I decided to get our initals with an infinity symbol engraved on mine 🙂
Former Miss Ireland, Rosanna Davison, was the special guest on the day and I interviewed her for my piece with Shemazing TV. She was lovely to chat to and every bit as glamourous in real life as you would imagine.
Rosanna was wearing some gorgeous glitzy pieces from the AW collection. She had a bracelet on which was really fab.

I recently got my hands on the new Roller Lash Mascara from Benefit.
First impressions…I love the packaging and the mascara brush looks interesting! The bristles underneath are much closer together than the ones on top so they are like a little comb.
This mascara is supposed to really curl up your lashes so I decided that I wouldn’t pre-curl my lashes with an eyelash curler to really put it to the test…and also because I have a fear of accidently pulling out all my lashes and having 1 bald eye (it happened to a girl I used to work with).
Check out my review andthe before and after pic in the video.
If you have really straight lashes then this mascara is worth a try but in my opinion it still doesn’t beat my favourite Lancome Grandiose Mascara.
Blogger Suzanne Jackson, or So Sue Me as she’s known, launched her SoSu nail collection a few weeks ago and I was delighted to go to the event to do a piece for Shemazing TV.
Suzanne was so glamourous and absolutely lovely to chat to. She told me all about her nail collection which is basically a gel polish collection with a huge variety of colours.
I tried out Suzanne’s favourite colour which is a nude polish called ‘I Do’. I LOVE the colour, I put on 2 coats and it came out a really gorgeous pale nude.
Suzanne said it should last 5 to 7 days if you use a base coat and a top coat. To be honest I was rushing so I skipped the base coat and all that and mine chipped on the 2nd day so the jury is still out on how long this lasts when it is properly applied. I will have to test it again when I have more time.
The collection is available in Penneys as well as lots of chemists around the country. If you want to see my interview with Sue then click the link below.
No7 recently launched the Early Defence skincare line which is designed to future proof your skin or as they like to say “slow mo your skin”. I was delighted to spend the day at the press launch chatting to beauty bloggers and doing a piece with Xpose about the new range.
The range is basically a really simple skincare routine to keep young skin looking younger for longer. It is designed specifically for the 20-35 age bracket and includes a day cream, a night cream and an eye cream. All the products have double defence technology in there to boost your skin’s natural defences and protect it from environmental stresses too.
I managed toget my hands on the Early Defence range before it hit the shelves and was so excited to get to do a beauty segment with Glenda Gilson on TV3’s Xpose.
Check out the video to find out all about the new products.
If you want to slow mo your skin then the early defence range is available to order online here.
I’ve been using the NO 7 Beautiful Skin Eye Makeup Remover for the last year and I have to say it is an absolutely brilliant eyemake remover. Even if I’m wearing heavier eye makeup for work or a night out this stuff completely dissolves it without drying out the skin around the eye area.
I have quite sensitive eyes and this doesn’t irritate them at all, it’s very gentle on the skin.
The skin around the eye area is so delicate and one of the first places to show the signs of aging which is why its so important to gently remove your eye makeup.
It costs €11 and is available from Boots instore or online here.
No more trying to scrub off your eye makeup with a regular cleanser! 🙂
